A survey on "Social Media Anxiety among Youth" was conducted by undergraduate students of Statistics at the IIS (Deemed to be University) between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between the time spent on social media and the anxiety levels of individuals aged 16 and above. A questionnaire was designed and circulated online through Google Forms and social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Instagram. A total of 30 responses were collected and analyzed using R programming.

It was concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between social media usage and anxiety levels. Many individuals who spent more hours on social media platforms reported higher levels of anxiety. Participants admitted to frequently checking social media, feeling anxious when disconnected, and experiencing mood swings based on online interactions. This trend was especially visible in users who spent more than 4 hours per day on social platforms.

The findings from correlation, regression, and ANOVA analyses revealed a moderate positive association between social media use and anxiety. Each additional hour spent on social media corresponded to a measurable increase in anxiety scores. The study confirmed that anxiety levels were significantly higher in the high-usage group compared to moderate and low-usage groups.

These findings suggest that excessive social media use can negatively affect individuals' mental well-being. Raising awareness about digital behavior and encouraging a balanced approach to social media could mitigate anxiety. The study not only provides valuable insights into the psychological impact of social media but also enabled students to apply statistical tools practically and meaningfully.
