Design of Experiments (Theory) |
CO 53: Deal with any type of data, check their normality assumptions. CO 54: Identify the behavior of the experimental unit and recognize issues of non-independence and apply appropriate design. CO 55: Analyze the design having interaction effects and the problem with minimum sources. CO 56: Analyze the non-orthogonal design and deal with the problem related to missing values in the real world situation. CO 57: Construct a design using different factors, also take decisions on the output of the design and identify the outliers. CO 58: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction. |
Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Group Discussion, Classroom Assignment, Problem Solving Sessions.
Learning activities for the students: Assignments, Seminar, Presentation, Subject based Activities. |
Classroom Quiz Assignments, Class Test, Individual Presentation. |
Principles of design of experiments, uniformity trails, need of design of experiments, complete analysis of completely randomized design, randomized block design.
Complete analysis of Latin Square Design. Analysis of covariance. Missing plot technique in RBD and LSD, Efficiency of CRD, RBD and LSD. Multiple comparisons test: Tukey, Student-Newmann-Kuel and Duncan.
Factorial Experiment 2n and 3n, Confounding: Total and partial confounding. Construction of confounded factorial experiments belonging to 2 n.
Non orthogonal data: analysis of missing plot. Split plot and strip plot designs. Balanced incomplete block design (intra - block analysis).
