An orientation program was organized by the Department of Statistics for newly admitted 1st-semester UG students. Detailed information regarding the Department of Statistics, faculty profile, Location of the Department/Classes/Labs, Subject-wise course-Credits-PO-CO, Scheme of Examination (CA & SEE), and the Library system (online access) was given by Dr. Pooja Choraria, Head of the Department of Statistics. The Additional head, Ms. Surbhi Gupta, briefly described the university, departmental website, the students' timetable & syllabus. The main objective of the programme was to make the students aware of the academic aspects of the course and the rules and regulations of the college.
During the orientation seniors organized engaging games like the 'icebreaker' and the 'heads-up challenge.' Teams participated in activities such as guessing Bollywood hook-steps and identifying movies through emojis. Winning teams were rewarded with chocolates and pens.
The session concluded with a photo session to preserve interaction memories. Students engaged in Q&A with faculty and seniors, and a feedback form for the orientation was shared with students. The orientation was richly accomplished, bringing pleasure to each student.
